Acceptance Recovery Center–The Athens Acceptance Recovery Center helps individuals that are battling with addiction. It educates patients and provides them with the treatment they need in order to recover.


Athens Nurses ClinicThe Athens Nurses Clinic provides free healthcare to low-income individuals in the Athens area. They provide evaluation, treatment, and education for those that need it.


Athens Tutorial ProgramThe Athens Tutorial Program helps at-risk students by providing them with academic tutoring, life skills coaching and cultural enrichment opportunities. They aim to improve academic performance and encourage kids to work for success.


AthFest EducatesThis nonprofit provides music and arts education for children and youth in Athens-Clarke County. They host various events every year to support the arts in our community.


Boys and Girls Club of AthensThe Boys and Girls Club provides a safe and healthy environment for kids aged 6-18. They provide after-school activities to support learning and life skills enhancement.


Chess and CommunityThe Chess and Community nonprofit aims to use chess as a tool, along with educational enrichment and community service, to help kids learn to think long-term and develop learning skills. They help to enrich youths’ leadership skills to help them become valuable members of society.


ESP (Extra Special People)ESP serves children and young adults in the Athens area with special needs. They help support youth with developmental disabilities and their families. They run weekend and after-school programs, family support groups and summer camps.


Habitat for HumanityThe Athens area Habitat for Humanity builds efficient and decent housing for individuals and families in need in and around Athens.


Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship FundThis foundation is a nonprofit that provides college scholarships to driven women that are in need. It provides scholarships to low-income women over 35 to help them complete college and build better lives.


Local Area Food Bank – Food banks provide nourishment for low income and homeless individuals that need help.


Local Area Homeless Shelter – Homeless shelters in Athens work to provide safe, clean housing for homeless individuals. This keeps them safe and gives them a place to sleep.


Local Area Humane Society The Athens Humane Society and Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter rescues animals in need and works to find them homes. They work to reduce euthanasia rates through adoption, spaying and neutering animals, and pet retention programs.


Meals on Wheels– Meals on Wheels is a nonprofit that provides food to senior citizens. The Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver food to seniors in the Athens area to help support their health and independence.


Nuci’s Space– Nuci’s Space is a nonprofit that helps support those with mental illness and fight the stigma they may experience in their day to day life. With a focus on musicians in the Athens area, their mission is to prevent suicide and provide support and treatment to people suffering from mental illness.


Project Safe– Project Safe is a nonprofit working to prevent and end domestic violence. They provide a network of safe houses to protect victims, as well as educational programs to inform the public about the issue.


Strong Girls – Strong Girls combines educational activities, creative arts, and yoga. Their camps, groups, and workshops are designed to inspire feelings of love and acceptance and create a sense of community. Girls will gain new tools that will increase inner and outer strength, love, and focus.


The Cottage– The Cottage, Sexual Assault Center & Children’s Advocacy Center raises awareness and facilitates the healing of individuals, families, and communities affected by sexual violence and child abuse.


The Tyanna Foundation for Mammogram Imaging– The Tyanna Foundation is different. Known for their signature slogan “Save the Girls”, they work tirelessly to make breast cancer more comfortable for patients—and less prevalent on the planet.


U-Lead – The mission at U-Lead Athens is to provide tools, resources, and a safe and nurturing environment for their students. They look to encourage success in school and to prepare them for future careers and education.
